EarthHaven has become the name of our community/family. In Long Beach, the house itself was "The Priory". Here it is "KIldare", meaning church of the oaks. Since we are part of the church and have bunches of oaks in the backyard, it seemed fitting. We have a short statement containing our individual and collective purpose, but more on that later.

I think you deserve the prize for the most Ren-Faire sounding blog name. (That's meant as a compliment)
Michelle forgot some of the other words that some may not understand. For instance, "assistancia" That is a Spanish word for an axilliary mission support facillity. Between some of the missions on the camino real there were extra stops that could be made to get away from grizzly bears, for example. Or they might be put in an area that was particularly good for growing food or hunting. It is like an assistant to the main mission. Thus, "The Assistancia of EarthHaven" is to of support to the main mission, Which as we all know is to share Christ.
